WhatsApp Desktop App Now Available On Microsoft Windows Store. Know How To Download And Install
The standalone WhatsApp Desktop app is finally available on the Windows Store in beta version.
New Delhi: The much-awaited WhatsApp Desktop app is finally available on the Windows Store now. However, the desktop app is still available for beta users only and can be downloaded from the Microsoft Windows App Store.
The standalone WhatsApp Desktop app for Windows requires an x64 architecture-based CPU and Windows 10 version 14316.0 or higher, to run.
"With WhatsApp on the desktop, you can seamlessly sync all of your chats to your computer so that you can chat on whatever device is most convenient to you," Microsoft wrote on its page.
This move is a big relief for those who don't want to rely on browsers such as Chrome, Microsoft Edge and Firefox.
It should be noted that the standalone app is still a beta version so some initial bugs and issues are likely to appear. According to some users' review posted in the review section of the app have mentioned that WhatsApp Desktop was crashing for them on Windows 11.
How To Download And Install WhatsApp Desktop App From Windows Store?
1. Open the Microsoft Windows Store by opening the Start Menu and typing ‘store’. Click on the first result that should be the Windows Store app.
2. Type WhatsApp Desktop on the search bar at the top and you should find the app. Click on the ‘get’ button to begin downloading the app.
3. Before beginning to use it, set it up by entering details, similar to how you do it for WhatsApp on a smartphone.
Meanwhile, WhatsApp has been adding nifty features of late to make the world's most popular messaging platform useful. Recently, the formerly Facebook-owned company added a brand new button in its mobile app that makes joining group video calls that have been missed much easier.
With the quote, “Join Whenever, Never Miss a Moment!”, the new button adds the capability of connecting with the ongoing video call if the user has missed it due to some reason. This is unlike what the messaging platform was offering earlier - nobody could join an ongoing group call on WhatsApp if they had missed it due to some reason.
The new button is almost an expansion to the 'join' feature which was earlier introduced by Whatsapp in July. However, the functionality of the join button remained confined to the call tab only for voice calls and now it is extending to video calls.
