After Briefly Changing Logo To 'Doge', Twitter HQ Now Renames Itself 'Titter': Here's What Elon Musk Has To Say
Twitter's sudden name change is a result of an online poll conducted by Musk last year.
Twitter chief Elon Musk has reacted to the viral image of the company's San Francisco headquarters being renamed as 'Titter' and said that he painted the alphabet 'W' on Twitter HQ's board white, to match the background colour. The sudden change in name was apparently a result of an online poll run by Musk on the microblogging platform last year. This comes just a week after Twitter's signature blue-bird logo was changed to the 'Doge' meme briefly last week, which was apparently done as a joke pulled by Musk, leading to a price rally for the memecoin.
While reacting to the change in name, Musk tweeted, "Our landlord at SF HQ says we’re legally required to keep sign as Twitter & cannot remove “w”, so we painted it background colour."

In the same thread, Musk sarcastically said that they tried to "muffle Titter." For those unaware, titter means a half-suppressed giggle.
The alleged reason behind the move is an online poll that Musk conducted in April 2022, in which he asked people whether they would support the removal of 'W' from Twitter's name or not. The poll received a massive response from netizens, with hundreds of thousands of users participating before it was later deleted.
In classic Twitter tradition, Twitterati reacted to Musk’s post on the name change. While some praised it, others targeted Musk over his "immature sense of humour."
One user wrote, “Titter is better,” whereas William LeGate, CEO of Pillow Fight, sarcastically commented on Musk's antics and said, "Elon Musk, in a remarkable show of maturity, has removed the "w" from Twitter's logo outside their San Francisco HQ. The company now reads as 'Titter."
