PM Modi To Inaugurate IMC 2024, WTSA Telecom Events Today: Here's What To Expect

India is set to host the prestigious World Telecommunication Standardization Assembly (WTSA) for the first time, marking a significant moment for the country and the Asia-Pacific region. Organised by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), the United Nations agency for digital technologies, this global event happens once every four years. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to inaugurate the event at 10 am today at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi.

This year, it is expected to attract over 3,000 attendees, including industry leaders, policymakers, and tech experts from more than 190 countries, all of whom represent the telecommunications, digital, and ICT sectors.

WTSA 2024: What To Expect

The WTSA 2024 will serve as a collaborative platform where nations come together to shape the future of next-generation technologies. Key topics include the development of standards for 6G, artificial intelligence (AI), the Internet of Things (IoT), Big Data, and cybersecurity.

India's role as the host positions it to influence global telecom standards and technological advancements. Additionally, Indian startups and research organisations are expected to gain valuable knowledge on Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) and Standard Essential Patents (SEPs), further strengthening the country’s innovation landscape.

IMC 2024: What To Expect

In conjunction with this, the India Mobile Congress (IMC) 2024 will shine a spotlight on the nation's thriving innovation ecosystem. The event will feature cutting-edge developments in quantum technology, circular economy practices, 5G and 6G use cases, cloud and edge computing, IoT, semiconductors, cybersecurity, green technologies, satellite communication, and electronics manufacturing.

As Asia's largest digital technology forum, IMC has grown into a renowned global stage for showcasing the latest innovations and solutions across industries.

The 2024 edition promises to be a massive event, featuring over 400 exhibitors and around 900 startups, with participation from more than 120 countries. Attendees can expect over 900 tech demonstrations, more than 100 sessions, and discussions led by over 600 industry experts from around the world.
