Linda Yaccarino: Everything You Need To Know About Elon Musk's Potential Successor As Twitter CEO

As the leader of NBCU's advertising sales division, Yaccarino played a vital role in the successful launch of the company's ad-supported streaming service, Peacock.

According to several media reports, discussions are underway for Linda Yaccarino, the advertising head at NBCUniversal, to potentially assume the role of CEO at Twitter. This news comes after Elon Musk mentioned on Thursday that he had identified a new chief executive for Twitter, without revealing the person's name.

Musk simply tweeted that "she" will be starting in around six weeks. The billionaire entrepreneur said that he will now take over the role of Twitter's executive chair and CTO, and will oversee product, software, and system operations.

Now, several publications, including The Wall Street Journal, have reported that Yaccarino is in talks for the top role. Here's everything you need to know about her.

Yaccarino boasts an impressive tenure of over ten years at NBCUniversal, where she has been a prominent advocate for discovering improved methods of measuring advertising effectiveness. As the leader of NBCU's advertising sales division, she played a vital role in the successful launch of the company's ad-supported streaming service, Peacock.

She obtained her education at Penn State University, majoring in liberal arts and telecommunications.

Yaccarino spent 19 years at Turner Entertainment, where she was instrumental in modernising the network's advertising sales operations to align with the digital landscape.

During a recent advertising conference in Miami, Yaccarino conducted an interview with Elon Musk. At the event, she encouraged the audience to greet Musk with applause and praised his dedication and work ethic.

If Yaccarino were to depart from NBCUniversal, it would be yet another significant blow to the company. Just last month, Comcast announced the departure of NBCUniversal CEO Jeff Shell after he admitted to engaging in an inappropriate relationship with a colleague, following a complaint that triggered an investigation.

Interestingly, as per a report by Business Insider, she has always been a supporter of Musk and said that he needed to be given time to turn things around at the microblogging platform. He also reportedly confided in her friends that she wanted to become the CEO of Twitter.
