iPad In 1941? Old Picture Leaves Netizens In Splits About Time Travel

The said image was initially shared on Reddit and it showcases a young boy standing at the far right of the line who appeared to be holding an iPad.

A picture has stirred up the internet, with users claiming that a time travel event happened due to which an iPad was seen back in 1941. An ordinary-looking photograph has triggered debate between netizens, with some saying that the image is evidence of time travel and some users saying that it was not an iPad. As per reports, the said photo was taken by Edwin Rosskam on Chicago's South Side, and it shows a group of children who are lined up to enter a movie hall.

A child in particular in this picture is the reason for all these controversies.

iPad In 1941? Old Picture Leaves Netizens In Splits About Time Travel

The said image was initially shared on Reddit and it showcases a young boy standing at the far-right of the line. He appeared to be holding an object that looked like an iPad. This raised the eyebrows of many who seemed to be convinced that it indeed was an iPad as the first iPad was released in 2010 and not in 1941. A user while advocating for the same wrote, "If you zoom right in close, that is too big to be a "book" or "notepad" plus you can see what looks like the iconic Apple logo on the back of it."

On the other hand, some people said that the object was a notebook. There were also some who made comments based on the race of the boy who was holding that object. A user commented, "If I can time travel, have an iPad and I'm black why in God's name would I go to the South Side of Chicago in 1941 to watch a matinee of 'The Aldrich Family'?!"

Other Time Travel Incidents That Drew Attention

This isn't the first time an old photograph has fueled speculation about time travel. Supporters of the theory have often pointed to historical images where modern technology seems out of place. One well-known example is a 1943 photo from a Cornwall beach, where a man appears to be holding a mobile phone, though skeptics later argued he was likely rolling a cigarette.

Similar discussions have emerged from other photos, such as a 1940s image from Reykjavik showing a man who seems to be using a phone. More recently, an ancient Greek tombstone sparked intrigue when people thought they saw a laptop depicted in the carving, adding to the "evidence" of time travel.
