Samsung Expands Self-Repair Programme, Now Includes Galaxy Z Flip 5, Z Fold 5

First introduced in the US last year, Samsung's self-repair programme later expanded to South Korea, Brazil, Mexico, and certain European countries.

Samsung has announced the expansion of its self-repair programme, in partnership with iFixit, making it available for the its newest smartphones, tablets and PCs in South Korea and additional European countries. Notably, Samsung is extending the programme to include foldable lineup, such as the Galaxy Z Flip 5 and Z Fold 5. This expansion provides Galaxy users with increased convenience and options to enhance the longevity of their devices. Through December, more Galaxy products, including the flagship Galaxy S23 series, the Tab S9 series, and the Galaxy Book2 Pro series, will be included into the programme.

First introduced in the US last year, Samsung's self-repair programme later expanded to South Korea, Brazil, Mexico, and certain European countries earlier this year. Presently, Samsung is broadening the programme's reach to 30 more countries in Europe, including nations like Denmark, Greece, Hungary, and Portugal.

The programme provides Galaxy users access to genuine parts -- enabling them to replace the screen, back glass, charging ports, speaker, SIM tray and side key and volume key in their Galaxy smartphones. Similarly, Samsung Galaxy Book series users will be able to repair the front and rear case, display, battery, touchpad, power key with fingerprint reader, rubber feet, fan and speakers.

Meanwhile, Samsung is preparing for the release of the flagship Galaxy S24 series, and with the unveiling date drawing near, rumours and unofficial information about the smartphone are gaining traction. As per famed tipster Ahmed Qwaider, details on X (formerly Twitter) were posted, suggesting that the titanium frame featured in the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra is anticipated to exhibit 56 per cent greater durability compared to the Armor Aluminum utilised in its predecessors, namely the Galaxy S22 Ultra and Galaxy S23 Ultra.

It's essential to note that there is currently no confirmation regarding the inclusion of a titanium frame in the Samsung Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S24 Plus. Additionally, speculations indicate that the Galaxy S24 Ultra may introduce an upgraded version of Gorilla Glass Victus 2, with expectations of incorporating Gorilla Glass Armor screen protection to bolster the smartphone's durability beyond that of the Galaxy S23 Ultra.

It is crucial to highlight that these developments are based on leaks and speculations, and no certainty can be provided until the official unveiling of the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra. While there is anticipation for the new generation's launch in January 2024, the company has not disclosed a specific date at this time.
