New Delhi: The upcoming Apple iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max models are set to get more prominent and bigger camera bumps as the tech giant is upgrading its wide camera to 48MP, according to famed Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo. As per the famed analyst, the camera bump on the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro Max will see an increase by as much as 25 per cent-35 per cent and the height of 48MP's 7P lens will increase by 5 per cent-10 per cent.
However, some previous rumours suggested by Apple leaker John Prosser showed the purported product images of the iPhone 14 line that showed the lack of a rear-mounted camera protrusion and showed off a much slimmer profile and sent waves through the industry. But now, according to Kuo, an analyst at TF International Securities, a financial services group in the Asia-Pacific region, the main reason for the larger and more prominent rear-camera bump of the 14 Pro/Pro Max is upgrading the wide camera to 48MP (vs. 13 Pro/Pro Max's 12MP).
"The main reason for the larger and more prominent rear-camera bump of the 14 Pro/Pro Max is upgrading the wide camera to 48MP (vs. 13 Pro/Pro Max's 12MP). The diagonal length of 48MP CIS will increase by 25-35%, and the height of 48MP's 7P lens will increase by 5-10%," Kuo tweeted late on Sunday.

Other major design changes in the iPhone 14 line include the replacement of the notch with a new, pill and hole-punch TrueDepth camera array. The inclusion of a 48MP wide camera is among the iPhone 14 Pro's most widely rumored features, having been repeatedly mentioned by the Apple analyst as well as Taiwanese research firm TrendForce.
Earlier this month, Kuo had predicted that Apple will take a break from its pattern of featuring the latest A-series chips in all its new iPhone models, and it would launch the Apple iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max with the A16 Bionic chip while the Apple iPhone 14 and the iPhone 14 Max will be unveiled with the same A15 Bionic chip that was launched with the previous-gen iPhone 13 lineup.
"Only two Pro models would upgrade to the A16 processor, while the 14 & 14 Max will remain the A15. All four new models will likely come with 6GB RAM, with the difference being LPDDR 5 (14 Pro & 14 Pro Max) vs. LPDDR 4X (14 & 14 Max)," Ming-Chi Kuo had tweeted.
