Knock Knock, It’s Your SIM! Airtel & Blinkit Promise 10-Minute Delivery

The Airtel-Blinkit collab brings convenience to the forefront, letting users receive a new SIM at home for a nominal fee of Rs 49.

Bharti Airtel has launched a first-of-its-kind initiative by joining hands with Blinkit to offer doorstep SIM card delivery within just 10 minutes. This unique service — a first in India’s telecom space — is currently operational in 16 cities and aims to expand to more regions in the near future.

The move brings convenience to the forefront, letting users receive a new SIM at home for a nominal fee of Rs 49. Airtel customers can then activate their SIM cards seamlessly using Aadhaar-based self-KYC authentication. Whether you're choosing a prepaid or postpaid plan, or even switching to Airtel via mobile number portability (MNP), the entire process is designed to be fast, digital, and hassle-free.

How It Works: SIM At Home, Activation Online

Once the SIM is delivered, users can initiate activation via a simple online journey. Airtel has also made available an instructional activation video to help customers through the process. Activation must be completed within 15 days of delivery.

If assistance is needed, support is available through the Airtel Thanks app, and new users can also call 9810012345 for guidance. The goal is to ensure a frictionless transition for every customer, right from doorstep delivery to final activation.

Why Blinkit? Speed Meets Tech Convenience

Blinkit, the quick-commerce startup known for delivering everything from groceries to gadgets at lightning speed, will handle the SIM deliveries. Airtel will take care of everything post-delivery — from KYC to plan selection and network activation.

From Blinkit's end, this collaboration is all about reducing the friction in telecom onboarding. 

Available In These Cities — And Growing

This new service is live in several major urban centres, including Delhi, Gurugram, Faridabad, Sonipat, Ahmedabad, Surat, Chennai, Bhopal, Indore, Bengaluru, Mumbai, Pune, Lucknow, Jaipur, Kolkata, and Hyderabad. More towns and cities are expected to join the rollout soon.
