Apple Watch Series 8 May Be Able To Detect Fever: Everything You Should Know

Apple Watch 8 Series is set to launch with a body temperature monitor that would be able to tell if a user is running a fever.

Apple Watch 8 Series is set to launch with a body temperature monitor that would be able to tell if a user is running a fever. The Apple Watch Series 8 will not give users an exact reading of the body temperature, but it would be able to detect a spike in body temperature, according to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman.

The purported body temperature sensor in the Apple Watch Series 8 is yet to pass internal testing; Apple is also likely to feature the body temperature monitor in the rumoured “rugged” smartwatch but will give a miss to the feature in the next Apple Watch SE. Rumours of the Apple bringing a body temperature sensor in the Apple Watch series started floating last year in June only to be backtracked later.

Other expected features in the Apple Watch Series 8 do not include any significant changes from the Apple Watch Series 7. In terms of the processor, Apple is likely to include the current-gen chipset in the upcoming Apple Watch Series 8 as well, according to some reports. The Apple Watch Series 6 and last year's Apple Watch Series 7 both feature the same W3 Apple wireless chipset and the U1 ultra wideband chip.
