It seems that Apple Music is in the process of beta testing integration with a service called SongShift, which facilitates transferring music from other services to Apple Music, says a report by 9to5Mac. User reports on Reddit indicate that the feature is currently undergoing A/B testing in the latest beta version of Apple Music for Android.
SongShift, a third-party service available exclusively on iOS. SongShift enables users to transfer their music collections and playlists from one streaming service to another and is accessible as a standalone app on iOS.
For those who are not familiar, SongShift is a third-party service that has been accessible for several years. It enables users to effortlessly transfer their music libraries and playlists across various music streaming platforms. For example, you can use the SongShift app to migrate your playlists from Apple Music to Spotify, or vice versa.
Currently, Apple seems to be experimenting with integrating SongShift directly into its platform. As reported by users on Reddit, a new prompt has emerged in Apple Music for Android, prompting users to "add saved music and playlists created in other music services to your Apple Music library." Additionally, there's a new option within Apple Music's settings on Android for this purpose.
Whether Apple intends to introduce SongShift integration to Apple Music on iPhone is uncertain. Generally, though, Apple Music for Android and Apple Music for iPhone are maintained with feature parity.
