Apple ‘Fully Resumed’ Advertising On Twitter, Largest advertiser On the Platform: Elon Musk
New Twitter chief Elon Musk said Apple Inc has “fully resumed” ads and added the iPhone maker is the largest advertiser on the microblogging website.
New Delhi: After Twitter chief Elon Musk clarified his misunderstanding with Apple about pulling out advertisements on the platform, the new owner on Saturday said Apple Inc has “fully resumed” ads and added the iPhone maker is the largest advertiser on the microblogging website.
The latest comment de-escalated a situation of conflict between two of the world’s most influential tech companies. Musk who commented during a Twitter Spaces conversation didn’t elaborate further on Apple, reported news agency Bloomberg. The billionaire shared his views for more than two hours during the chat from his private plane with more than 90,000 listeners tuned in.
Amazon is also planning to resume advertising on the platform at about $100 million per year post certain security tweaks to the social media company's ads platform, news agency Reuters reported citing a tweet from a Platformer reporter on Saturday.
Since Musk acquired the company, a number of companies have withdrawn advertising on the platform including General Mills Inc. and Pfizer Inc following concerns over whether the platform will change policies to combat hate speech and misinformation. However, Musk thanked his advertisers for returning to the platform.

Last week, Musk accused Apple of mostly stopping advertising on Twitter and threatening to withhold the site from its App Store. Charging at the tech company, Musk also risked war with the world’s most valuable company which remained a top advertiser at a time when other companies were pulling their marketing from Twitter.
Musk later interacted with Apple Chief Executive Officer Tim Cook and clarified that the two had a “good conversation” and “resolved the misunderstanding about Twitter potentially being removed from the App Store.” Musk said Cook was “clear that Apple never considered doing so.”
Twitter’s new approach for verifying accounts had also allowed trolls to impersonate major brands. Musk said that he hopes to revive the company’s verification program in the next week after it had been paused to deal with imposters.
