Musk Criticises Meta For Not Sharing Actual Ad Metrics, Says X Gives Better Returns

X boss Elon Musk has criticised rival and social networking giant Meta, led by Mark Zuckerberg, for withholding accurate advertisement metrics.

Tech billionaire Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, has criticised rival and social networking giant Meta, led by Mark Zuckerberg, for withholding accurate advertisement metrics. Musk asserted that his X platform, formerly known as Twitter, delivers superior returns compared to Meta. Responding to a follower's comment alleging Meta's deception in ad metrics, Musk affirmed the claim as "True."

"Our advertising relevance has greatly improved," Musk posted on X.

Minutes later, the tech billionaire's another post read, "Facts," where he had quoted a user named @cb_doge's post that read: "If you're still advertising your brand on Meta platforms, you might want to see this👇."

This comes a day after Musk, the billionaire owner of X (formerly Twitter), announced that the microblogging platform will go through an algorithm update "soon", which will offer users much "less clickbait" and way "more bangers" (which is Elonspeak for better content worth your time).

It is pertinent to note that X's stance on free speech led to the alienation of advertisers concerned about their ads appearing alongside harmful content. In November of last year, several major advertisers, such as Walt Disney Co. and Apple Inc., halted spending on the platform following a report revealing their ads adjacent to pro-Nazi content.

This development also comes shortly after the company announced the appointment of two new leaders to its safety team. Kylie McRoberts, a current X employee, has been appointed as the Head of Safety, while Yale Cohen, formerly of Publicis Media, has joined as the Head of Brand Safety and Advertiser Solutions at X.
