Tamil Nadu Govt Won't Be Intimidated By Governor Ravi's Childish Behaviour: Stalin
TN CM Stalin remarked in the legislative Assembly while presenting a Motion of Thanks to the Governor's address.
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin asserted that his government was standing up against autocratic tendencies and would not be intimidated by the "childish behavior" of Tamil Nadu Governor RN Ravi on Thursday. Stalin made these remarks in the Legislative Assembly while presenting a Motion of Thanks to the Governor's address. He accused the Governor of utilizing the Assembly platform for the expansion of his political agenda.
Emphasizing his Dravidian heritage, Stalin asserted that his 'Dravidian Model' government had successfully surmounted numerous challenges in the past and remained steadfast in its resolve to overcome any "pulverise obstacles".
Regarding RN Ravi's refusal to read the prepared text of the Governor's address, Stalin asserted, "In my capacity as the leader of a movement that has the strength to overcome obstacles, I am Muthuvel Karunanidhi Stalin. I cannot be intimidated or hindered."
The Chief Minister, as per IANS, said: “Protocol demands that the Governor address the House at the beginning of the session. The Governor, however, behaved in a way that made us believe that he was using the Assembly as an extension of his political activities. Was it not an act that denigrated a century-old Assembly? Was it not an act that slighted the people of Tamil Nadu? Was it not amounting to violating and denigrating the Constitution by which he took the oath of office?”
The Chief Minister further noted that there was once a belief that North India was advancing while the South lagged behind. However, he highlighted that South India has now attained significant growth and is actively contributing to the development of the North.
Stalin attributed this progress to the principles and efforts of the Dravidian Movement.
He said, “The government is not just to wield power, it is a tool to implement our ideology.”
