Chennai: Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin on Friday lauded woman inspector Rajeshwari from TP Chatram police station, who saved the life of a cemetery worker in the face of the catastrophe that was created by heavy rains in the city.

The Chief Minister presented an appreciation letter and said that the inspector is a 'source of pride' for other police personnel working in the department.

CM Stalin complemented the Inspector for her bravery and her swift decisiveness. In an appreciation letter presented to inspector Rajeshwari, he said, "Chennai TP Chattram Police Station Inspector Mrs. Rajeshwari's humanitarian work is a source of pride for all Tamil Nadu police personnel. I extend my heartfelt congratulations on her humanitarian work."

"The work she has done, majestically and compassionately in line with 'Police is your friend', is a source of pride and encouragement to all in the police force. Congratulations on their service. May the work of protecting the law and the people continue," He said in the letter which is roughly translated from Tamil.

On Thursday, when Udaya, a cemetery worker became unconscious at the Kilpauk graveyard, inspector Rajeswari from TP Chatram police station acted swiftly by carrying him on her shoulder and loading him in an auto-rickshaw to send him to the nearby hospital for first aid. Udaya, who was reportedly unwell for a few days, is in stable condition as of Friday morning.
