IPS Reshuffle: Villupuram, Chengalpattu Districts Hit By Hooch Tragedy Get New SPs

IPS P Saravanan who was kept on compulsory wait after the alleged custodial torture of Ambasamudram ASP was appointed as DC (Traffic), Chennai North.

Overall, 39 IPS officers have been promoted or transferred among various departments in the TN service.

The two districts, Villupuram and Chengalpattu, which were rocked by the hooch tragedy have got their new SPs on Friday. IPS Sai Praneeth has been posted as the SP of Chengalpattu district while IPS Shashank Sai has been posted as the SP of Villupuram district. 

Chengalpattu SP A Pradeep was sent to Madurai as Deputy Commissioner.

According to the order from Principal Secretary to Government P. Amudha, four IPS officers have been promoted. IPS Rajeev Kumar has been promoted to the rank of DGP without prejudice to his deputation with the Government of India. IPS Sandeep Rai Rathore has been promoted to the rank of DGP and posted as DGP, Training, Police Training Academy in Chennai.

Two IPS officers, Abhay Kumar Singh and Vannia Perumal, have been promoted and posted as DGP/Director, Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Chennai and DGP Vigilance, TANGEDCO. 

Avadi has also got a new Commissioner in the place of Sandeep Rai Rathore. ADGP Arun has been posted as the new Commissioner of Avadi.

IPS Albert John, who was Deputy Commissioner of Police, Flower Bazaar, Greater Chennai Police, Chennai has been posted as SP Tirupathur District in the place of Dr. KS Balla Krisshnan. 

IPS Shreya Gupta, SP State Crime Records Bureau, Chennai has been posted as Deputy Commissioner of Police, Flower Bazaar, Greater Chennai Police, Chennai in the place of IPS Albert John.

IPS Rupesh Kumar Meena, Inspector General of Police, Enforcement, Chennai has been posted as Inspector General of Police, Social Justice and Human Rights, Chennai.

Overall, 39 IPS officers have been promoted or transferred among various departments in TN service.
