The SC gave the judgment while hearing a batch of petitions regarding the AIADMK power tussle between OPS and EPS.
After the death of AIADMK general secretary J Jayalalithaa, a clash broke out between Edappadi Palaniswami and O Panneerselvam regarding the leadership of the party. Initially, OPS and EPS were the AIADMK coordinator and co-coordinator of the party respectively.
Later, EPS group passed a resolution making EPS as interim general secretary and ousted OPS from the party.
On the other hand, Jayalalithaa's aide Sasikala is also trying to gain control over the party. However, EPS camp ousted Sasikala and AMMK chief TTV Dhinakaran from the party.
