'No Longer With SP', Says OP Rajbhar. Hints At Forging Alliance With BSP

Rajbhar also accused Akhilesh Yadav of bias in the distribution of tickets in the Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections earlier this year.

New Delhi: Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party (SBSP) chief Om Prakash Rajbhar on Sunday said that his party is no longer with the Samajwadi Party (SP) and also hinted at forging an alliance with the BSP, news agency PTI reported. His remarks come a day after SP wrote to Rajbhar and Shivpal Singh Yadav saying that they are free to go wherever they feel they would get more respect.

"Our (SBSP's) alliance with the Samajwadi Party is no more. Akhilesh Yadav is unable to control his uncle Shivpal Yadav and sister-in-law Aparna Yadav, so how will he control me? He does not listen to anyone," PTI quoted Rajbhar as saying.

To a question on forging alliances, Rajbhar said, "Some party leaders are of the view that we should go with the BSP. I also personally feel that we should speak with the BSP. The BSP performed well in the recent bypolls held in Azamgarh."

He added that BSP chief "Mayawati spends more time in the field as compared to Akhilesh Yadav."

He also accused Akhilesh Yadav of bias in the distribution of tickets in the Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections earlier this year.

Notably, after the SP’s letter, Shivpal Yadav took to his Twitter handle and wrote in Hindi, “Although I was always free, but I sincerely thank you for giving me formal independence by issuing a letter by the Samajwadi Party. Compromising on principles and respect is unacceptable in a political journey.”

It is to be noted that the letter comes just days after Akhilesh Yadav’s uncle Shivpal Singh Yadav and Rajbhar were seen at a dinner party hosted by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath for Droupadi Murmu ahead of the presidential elections.
