PM Modi also addressed a gathering after inaugurating the key projects. Here are some key points:

  • Addressing a huge gathering, the Prime Minister said, "today another golden chapter is being added in the development of UP. Today Kanpur has got metro connectivity. Kanpur is now connected to Bina Refinery."
  • Appreciating the work of the central and state government in UP, PM Modi said, "The double engine government that is running in Uttar Pradesh today is trying to make up for the lost time in the past. We are working double speed."
  • Hitting back at Samajwadi Party Chief Akhilesh Yadav who took a jibe at BJP and said that the foundation stone of the Kanpur Metro was laid by him, PM Modi said that when the "double engine" government lays the foundation stone of any development project, it takes full responsibility of it, works day and night and completes it. PM Modi said, " The foundation stone of Kanpur Project was laid by our government, hence it has been inaugurated by us. Our government laid the foundation stone of Purvanchal Expressway, our government completed its work."
  • Hitting back at the previous governments, PM Modi said, "Before the year 2014, the total length of the Metro running in UP was 9 kms. Between 2014 and 2017, the length of the metro increased to a total of 18 km. If we include Kanpur Metro today, the length of metro in UP has now exceeded 90 km."
  • Reiterating the slogan 'Sabka Sath, Sabka Vikas', PM Modi said, "For decades, this situation prevailed in our country that one part was developed and the other was left behind. It is equally important to remove this inequality at the level of society. That's why our government is working on with the goal of bringing everyone together in development.
