On Cam: Actor Nagarjuna's Convention Centre Bulldozed By Authorities In Hyderabad

The convention hall, reportedly owned by Telugu actor Nagarjuna, is alleged to have been constructed on encroached land, specifically on the full tank level (FTL) of the Thammidi Kunta Cheruvu.

The Hyderabad Disaster Response and Asset Protection Agency (HYDRA) started the demolition of the N-Convention Centre in Madhapur on Friday. The convention hall, reportedly owned by renowned Telugu actor Nagarjuna, is alleged to have been constructed on encroached land, specifically on the full tank level (FTL) of the Thammidi Kunta Cheruvu, a local water body.

HYDRA officials, supported by a large police presence, initiated the demolition early in the morning at the site near Shilparamam in Rangareddy district. The action follows allegations that the N-Convention Centre was built on land within the FTL zone, violating regulations intended to protect water bodies and prevent illegal encroachments.

Madhapur DCP confirmed the operation, stating, 'HYDRA officials have started demolishing the N-Convention Hall this morning, and we have deployed a police force to ensure the demolition is carried out smoothly, as the land comes under the FTL zone."

Reacting to the instead, Actor Nagarjuna Akkineni tweeted, "Pained by the unlawful manner of demolition carried out in respect of N Convention, contrary to existing stay orders and Court cases...The land is a Patta land, and not even an inch of tank plan is encroached. In respect of the building constructed inside the private land, there is a stay order granted against any earlier illegal notice for demolition. Today clearly, the demolition was carried out wrongfully based on misinformation. No notice was issued prior to carrying out the demolition this morning... We would be seeking appropriate relief from the Court in relation to the wrong actions carried out by the authorities."
