PM Modi's Roadshow In Jabalpur
PM Modi was accompanied by Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, state PWD minister Rakesh Singh, and the BJP's Jabalpur Lok Sabha candidate Ashish Dubey.
The roadshow commenced at around 6:30 pm from Shaheed Bhagat Singh crossing and concluded at Adi Shankaracharya crossing in the Gorakhpur locality around 7:15 pm. PM Modi, making his first visit to the state after the announcement of the Lok Sabha polls, along with Yadav and other party members, held the BJP's poll symbol 'lotus' as their saffron-coloured vehicle moved through the well-attended roadshow.
According to news agency PTI, a significant number of people lined up on either side of the route, capturing the moment by clicking photographs and shooting videos using their mobile phones. Many of them displayed placards with messages like 'Mera Ghar Modi Ka Ghar' and 'Mera Pariwar Modi Ka Pariwar,' highlighting a campaign initiated by the BJP to emphasize that the people of the country are Modi's family.
Tribal groups showcased various dances along the way, including the 'Badhai Nritya,' a traditional dance form of the state's Bundelkhand region performed during celebrations like marriages and childbirth.
Special arrangements were made to shower Modi with flowers as the roadshow passed through Gorakhpur market. Jabalpur falls within the Mahakoshal region of the state, which also includes Chhindwara, the only Lok Sabha seat that the BJP failed to win in the 2019 polls. The party swept the remaining 28 seats in Madhya Pradesh.
Jabalpur, along with Chhindwara, is scheduled to go to polls in the first phase on April 19, along with Sidhi, Shahdol (ST), Mandla (ST), and Balaghat.
