TMC Attacks Central Agencies When They Come To Investigate Corruption Cases: PM Modi In Bengal

PM Narendra Modi criticised TMC, accusing it of obstructing investigations into corruption cases in West Bengal. He also attacked the Congress-led I.N.D.I.A. and highlighted BJP's developmental initiatives.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched a scathing attack on the Trinamool Congress (TMC) during a rally in West Bengal's Jalpaiguri, accusing the party of obstructing the functioning of central investigative agencies when they probe corruption cases. Modi's remarks came as part of his election campaign ahead of the Lok Sabha polls.

Speaking at the rally, PM Modi accused the TMC-led government in West Bengal of impeding the work of central investigative agencies when they conduct inquiries into corruption cases. Following the attack on NIA officers in Bhupatinagar on Saturday, he remarked, "TMC attacks central agencies when they come to investigate corruption cases."

Citing the alleged sexual harassment cases in Sandeshkhali, he remarked, "The country knows about the atrocities inflicted on mothers and sisters (in Sandeshkhali). The country saw it. The court itself has to intervene in everything here. The TMC syndicate rules here."

PM Modi criticised the TMC government's approach to governance, alleging that it was hindering the implementation of welfare schemes initiated by the central government for the benefit of the poor.

He emphasised the importance of a strong central government for fostering trust in the country, stating, "Stronger the central govt, stronger the world’s trust in our country."

"TMC govt wants to have a free pass to loot and terrorise people in Bengal," he further charged.

Congress Remarks On Kashmir Unveiled Its Divisive Thinking: PM Modi

He also hit out at the Opposition I.N.D.I.A. bloc saying, "TMC, Left parties and Congress 'ek hi chatte batte ke sathi hain'. To save the corrupt people in their parties, these three have formed the INDI alliance. I say 'bhrashtachar mitao' (eradicate corruption), while they say 'bhrashtachari bachao' (save the corrupt)."

He also criticised the Congress over party chief Mallikarjun Kharge's remarks on Article 370, also citing the Kachchatheevu island row. "Congress brought Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir. And, now that we have abrogated the article, they are questioning its effect on other states. They did not care about Kashmir, just like they did not care about the Kachchatheevu island," he said.

"Congress is in pain due to removal of Article 370... The Congress President has asked why Modi talks about Kashmir in other states of the country… what do other states have to do with Kashmir? Kashmir is nothing for Congress, but for 140 crore countrymen, Kashmir is like the crown of Mother India. Kashmir is the pride of India... This statement from Congress has once again unveiled its divisive thinking," he remarked.

The Prime Minister underscored the significance of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, framing it as a crucial opportunity to establish a stronger and more stable government at the centre. He rallied support for Jayant Roy, BJP's candidate from Jalpaiguri, expressing confidence in his victory.

Expressing condolences to the families of those who lost their lives in a recent storm, PM Modi extended his sympathies during the rally.

He criticised the alleged neglect of the tea industry and highlighted the need to hold the TMC accountable in the elections.

Asserting the BJP government's commitment to empowering the poor, PM Modi reiterated the importance of welfare initiatives and criticised the TMC government for failing to deliver the intended benefits to the people of Bengal.

PM Modi outlined his vision for India's development, stating that the BJP government's initiatives have transformed the lives of the poor and enhanced their dignity. He emphasised the need to accelerate India's progress and position the country as a global economic powerhouse.
