PM Modi To Inaugurate National Youth Festival In Puducherry On Jan 12: UT LT Tamilisai Soundararajan
The PM is expected to reach Puducherry by 9.20 AM after which he would visit Aurobindo Ashram and take part in other scheduled events.
Chennai: Puducherry Lieutenant Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan on Tuesday said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate National Youth Festival on January 12. The silver jubilee of the National Youth Festival will be inaugurated as part of the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekanda.
According to an IANS report, the ceremony would be held at Pondicherry Technological University and the festival would likely draw 7,000 youngsters between 18-22 years of age from across the country. Nearly 500 youngsters from Puducherry are likely to participate in the four-day festival between January 12-16.

The Union Territory Governor said that only vaccinated persons will be permitted to take part in the festival.
The PM is expected to reach Puducherry by 9.20 AM after which he would visit Aurobindo Ashram and virtually inaugurate Kamarajar Manimandapam at Samipillaithottam. The PM would then attend the National Youth Festival and inaugurate the tool room of MSME Centre at Puducherry Technological University, said the LT Governor.
PM Modi would then leave to Madurai to attend the Pongal celebration "Modi Pongal" to be organised by TN BJP, ahead of the harvest festival.

PM Modi is also expected to inaugurate 11 medical colleges in the state along with TN CM Stalin. The Union Health and Family Welfare Minister Mansukh Mandaviya is also likely to take part in the event.
This is the first time PM Modi is visiting the state after DMK took over the government.
