2 Children Dead, 2 Others Hospitalised After Dam Collapses In Maharashtra's Uran

Four children were trapped following the collapse of a dam near Dhootum village near Uran

Two children lost their lives after a dam collapsed in Maharashtra's Raigad district, authorities informed on Monday. The local police revealed that the collapse near Dhootum village, situated near Uran Taluka resulted in four children being trapped, out of which two were buried under the debris and succumbed to their injuries.

According to ANI, senior Police Inspector Satish Nikam stated, "Four children were trapped following the collapse of a dam near Dhootum village near Uran. Of them, two were evacuated and admitted to the hospital for treatment while the remaining two died after being buried under the debris of the collapsed dam."

Labourers Found Dead Inside Tent In Jammu-Kashmir's Udhampur

In another incident, three labourers were discovered dead inside a tent in a remote area of Jammu and Kashmir's Udhampur district on Monday. The deceased, identified as Balvinder Chand (28), Sonu Ram (25), and Anil Chand (23), were engaged in construction work for power transmission towers in the Chennai area, news agency PTI reported.

According to officials cited by PTI, the bodies of the three labourers were found inside a tent at hilltop Katheer-Gatwal village. Upon receiving the report, a team led by Deputy Superintendent of Police Sheikh Tahir Aminas, along with forensic experts, visited the scene for investigation.

Speaking to PTI, DSP Aminas stated, "The exact cause of death will be known only after the post mortem which is being conducted by a board of doctors." He further noted that there were no visible injury marks on the bodies, hinting that the labourers might have passed away in their sleep.
