Karni Sena Chief's Killers Identified, Reward Of Rs 5 Lakh On Info Leading To Arrest Announced

The Rajasthan Police has said that assailants of Shri Rashtriya Rajput Karni Seva chief Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi have been identified.

The Rajasthan Police has said that the assailants of Shri Rashtriya Rajput Karni Sena chief Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi have been identified and will be arrested soon. DGP Umesh Mishra has constituted an SIT for investigation into the case. The accused have been identified as Rohit Rathore Makrana and Nitin Fauji, and a reward of Rs 5 lakh each leading to their arrest has been announced.

Speaking on the matter, Director General of Police Rajasthan Umesh Mishra said a strict blockade has been imposed and raids are underway at possible hideouts to search for the accused, as reported by news agency IANS. He further appealed to the public to maintain patience and peace and instructed the police to exercise special vigilance and increase security. Gogamedi was shot dead in the living room of his house in Jaipur by three armed men.

One of whom was also killed in retaliatory firing, police said, as reported by news agency PTI. The incident was caught on CCTV. Shyam Nagar police arrived at the scene and combed through CCTV video for any information regarding the attackers. Two other individuals were hurt during the incident, according to authorities, News 18 reported.

According to IANS, Mishra spoke to the DGP of neighboring state Haryana and sought cooperation. He expressed confidence that the police team will soon be successful in arresting the criminals. He stated that the killers entered Gogamedi’s house on the pretext of talking and after some time, started firing bullets. The guard of Gogamedi also retaliated. After the incident, both attackers also shot Naveen Shekhawat who was accompanying him.

While Gogamedi and Naveen died, his quard Ajit was seriously injured in the incident. Terming the crime "sad and serious", the DGP said that the murderers will soon be caught and strict legal action taken against them.

Rajasthan Bandh Today

Rajput community outfits called for a Rajasthan bandh on Wednesday, as reported by news agency ANI. They launched a protest against Gogamedi's murder in Jaipur. Later in the day, the protests spread in different parts of the state including Jodhpur and Udaipur. In Udaipur, the protestors were seen burning tyres and chanting slogans "phansi do".

Gangster Rohit Godara asserted accountability for the killing of Gogamedi in an alleged post on social media platform Facebook. According to the post purportedly from Godara's account, the action was taken against Gogamedi due to his alleged collaboration with their adversaries. Godara is affiliated with the gang led by Lawrence Bishnoi and his chief associate Goldy Brar.
