'Vendetta Politics': TMC Cries Foul As ED Raids Bengal Minister Jyotipriya Mallick's Residence In Ration Distribution Case
The ED searches were conducted at Mallick's Salt Lake residence in connection with his alleged involvement in a case of corruption in ration distribution.
New Delhi: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Thursday conducted raids at the house of West Bengal minister Jyotipriya Mallick at Salt Lake in Kolkata, news agency ANI reported. The searches were conducted in connection with Mallick’s alleged involvement in a case of corruption in ration distribution.

The 63-year-old state minister won Habra constituency in North 24 Paraganas in the last West Bengal elections in 2021. He is currently the minister for forest affairs. Mallick previously held the portfolio for food and supplies in the Bengal government.
Meanwhile, TMC leader Shashi Panja termed the ED raids as "vendetta politics". Speaking to the news agency, she said, "There is no other definition of this other than vendetta politics."

Mallick is a lawyer by profession and as per reports, he has assets worth Rs 6 crore. He has no criminal cases against him.
According to MyNeta, Jyotipriya Mallick earned Rs 40 lakh in 2019-20, Rs 52 lakh in 2018-19 and Rs 12 lakh in 2017-18.
As per his election affidavit, Mallick had cash of Rs 22,000 and bank account deposits amounting to Rs 4.8 crore.
