Child Dies After Falling Into Borewell In Rajasthan's Barmer, Body Recovered After 6-Hour Op

The boy's body was recovered out of the borewell after 6 hours, around 10 pm last night, with the help of experts and equipment.

A four-year-old boy died after he fell into a borewell in Rajasthan’s Gudamalani of Barmer district on Wednesday evening. The incident occurred in Arjun ki Dhani, the boy, identified as Naresh fell into the borewell while playing. Soon after the police received the information regarding the incident from the boy’s parents, they swung into action. 

They recovered his body was out of the borewell after 6 hours, around 10 pm last night, with the help of experts and equipment.

According to an IANS report, Naresh was the only son of one Pappu Ram. He was playing in the field near the house when he fell into the borewell which was about 150 feet deep. Naresh had fallen into an old borewell, that was still filled with water. The child was stuck at a depth of about 100 feet. 

To carry out the rescue operation, a team of Civil Defence had arrived from the district headquarters as well as other rescue teams. The team led by Madharam, a resident of Meda in Jalore was trying to rescue the child with PVC pipe, rope, wire, and other ways. Following this, Barmer Superintendent of Police (SP), Narendra Singh Meena reached the spot and collected all the information needed regarding the rescue operation.

Two private companies — Vedanta and Weatherford — also reached the spot to carry out rescue efforts. They used a borescope with which they had collected information about the depth of where the child was trapped. Different teams tried to pull out Naresh with every possible technique.

As per the report, at the time of the accident, Pappu Ram was in Punjab where he works as a driver in Punjab. After he received the information, he left for Barmer.
