Assam CM Announces Additional 4% DA For State Govt Employees, AIS Officers Ahead Of Diwali

The announcement comes Ahead of the festival of Diwali. Sarma said that the additional DA will be included in this month’s salary.

New Delhi: The Chief Minister of Assam Himanta Biswa Sarma on Sunday announced an additional Dearness Allowance of 4% for State Govt employees/All India Service Officers with effect from July 1, 2022.

The announcement comes Ahead of the festival of Diwali. Sarma said that the additional DA will be included in this month’s salary. He also extended his wishes for Diwali and hoped that this announcement will add to the festive fervour. The Assam CM took to Twitter to make the announcement.

“Happy to announce 4% additional Dearness Allowance for State Govt employees/All India Service Officers w.e.f. 1st July 2022, payable with this month’s salary. Hope this will add to the festive fervour. Also extending my good wishes for an auspicious and happy Deepawali!,” Sarma tweeted.

Earlier on Monday, the Uttar Pradesh government announced increasing dearness allowance and dearness relief of its employees and pensioners from 34 per cent at present to 38 per cent with effect from Jul 1.

The Jharkhand Government on October 10 approved a proposal to hike the dearness allowance (DA) for state government employees and the dearness relief (DR) for its pensioners by four per cent with effect from July 1 this year. According to an official, It will benefit around two lakh government employees and 1.35 lakh pensioners.

On October 14, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel announced a hike of 5 per cent in DA to 33 per cent. The hike will benefit around 3.80 lakh state government employees. The hike will be effective from 1 October 2022.

On October 7, the Delhi government ncreased the DA of its employees by 4 per cent. The decision to increase the DA of the state government employees was taken according to the decision of the Central government.

Rajasthan government also announced a four per cent increase in the dearness allowance to state employees and pensioners. Now, 38 per cent dearness allowance will be payable to state employees and pensioners from July 1, 2022. The Chief Minister also said that the state will be spending an additional amount to implement the hike.
