Not The First Time They Insulted 'Sanatan Dharma': Shah Lashes Out At DMK, Oppn In Rajasthan

Rajasthan Elections: Union Home Minister Amit Shah said that DMK and other opposition parties are 'insulting' Sanatan Dharma by talking about its end.

Rajasthan Assembly Elections: Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Sunday accused the opposition's I.N.D.I.A alliance of doing vote bank politics by 'insulting' Sanatan Dharma. He said that former PM Manmohan Singh had said that the first right on the budget is for the minorities, but "we say that the first right is for the poor, tribals, Dalits and backwards". Shah said it was Rahul Gandhi who compared Hindu organisations with Lashkar-e-Taiba, a terror outfit.

The remark came on DMK leader Udhayanidhi Stalin's comment that 'Sanatan Dharma should be eradicated'.

"...For the last two days INDIA alliance is insulting 'Sanatana Dharma'. Leaders of DMK and Congress are talking about ending 'Sanatana Dharma' just for vote bank politics. This is not the first time they have insulted our 'Sanatana Dharma'. Before this, Manmohan Singh also said that the first right on the budget is for the minorities, but we say that the first right is for the poor, tribals, Dalits and backwards. Today, the Congress party says that if Modi ji will win, Sanatana will rule. Rahul Gandhi said that the Hindu organisations are more dangerous than Lashkar-e-Taiba. Rahul Gandhi compared Hindu organisations with Lashkar-e-Taiba..," Shah said at 'Parivartan Yatra' in Dungarpur, Rajasthan.

Notably, Rajasthan is set to go to polls later this year apart from four other states. Congress is in power here and it faces a challenge from the BJP to save a few of the states where the grand old party has its government.

He said that CM Ashok Gehlot-led government in Rajasthan will be removed once BJP's 'Parivartan Yatra' ends.

"Today the second 'yatra' is being organised of Parivrtan Yatra. This Yatra of the BJP will continue for 19 days for approximately 2,500 km and will contact 52 Assembly constituencies... The Ashok Gehlot government will be removed when this 'Parivartan Yatra' ends," he said.

Taking a jibe at Gehlot over the 'red diary' issue, he said the CM sees red diary even when someone wears red clothes, and claimed it contains details of 'mining, Kalisindh, teachers' scams. Shah asked Gehlot to give an account of the corruption, scams and appeasement done in five years to the people of Rajasthan.
