US Open: Daniil Medvedev Reaches Grand Slam Semi Final For Third Time In A Row | Djokovic Vs Medvedev Final?
US Open: Medvedev has a chance of heading to his second US Open Final. He played his only final in 2019 when he lost to Rafael Nadal.
World no.2, Russia's Daniil Medvedev has reached the semi-final of the ongoing US Open. He defeated Botic van de Zandschulp 3-6, 0-6, 6-4, and 5-7 to reach the semi-final of the US Open. Daniil will face Canada's Felix Auger Aliassime.
Van de Zandschulp gave a tough fight to the Russian. He had come of 11 straight wins and also by defeating the 11th ranked Diego Schwartzman to reach his first grand slam quarter-final. In the third set that was won by Van de Zandschulp, Medvedev was coming off eight straight game victories. To win that set 6-4 from 0-2 down is itself an achievement. This is the third set that we are talking about, but the Russian, after this set came back even stronger and won the last set without entering in a break-point situation. Thus, it was a memorable tournament for the Dutchman, but eventually, world no.2 prevailed.

“First two sets were kind of under control. He was missing some balls, some important points, then third and fourth set was really tough. He played top level, served really big," said Medvedev.

Djokovic Vs Medvedev Final?
There are chances that Djokovic might face Medvedev if Daniil beats Felix Auger Aliassime in the semi-final and if Djokovic manages to get past two big challenges in the form of Matteo Berrettini and Alexander Zverev.
Responding to the possibility of facing Novak Djokovic in the final, Daniil said, “I don’t think about him, because as we saw, anybody can beat anybody. If he’s in the final, and if I’m there, I’m happy,” said Medvedev. He’s also happy, I guess.”
