PogBoom 2.0: Pogba Officially Re-Unites With Juventus

Paul Pogba has officially returned to Juventus as a free agent, thereby ending his six-year spell at Manchester United.

New Delhi: Paul Pogba has officially returned to Juventus after the club signed him as a free agent. Juventus officially announced Pogba's return through their Twitter account on Monday. The big announcement means that Juventus have signed their wonderkid back. Pogba’s contract with United had expired and ever since, it was a matter of when, and not if, Pogba will be presented as a Juventus player as they were strongly linked with him since January.

Pogba had earlier played for Juventus from 2012-2016 after he left United for free. Pogba rose through the ranks at Manchester United before being promoted to the club's first-team during the 2011-12 season. After failing to become a regular starter for the club, he joined Juventus in 2012.

Pogba became one of the best young midfielders in the world during his time in Turin and was linked with a host of European giants such as Real Madrid and FC Barcelona. Manchester United stepped in and broke the world record for transfer fee when they paid £89 million for his services in 2016.

Pogba will be donning the iconic number 10 shirt previously worn by himself and club legends like Paulo Dybala, Michel Platini, Allesandro Del Piero etc., Juventus announced. His deal at Juventus will see him earn £160,000 per week, which is a massive drop from the £290,000 per week he was earning at Manchester United.

Pogba’s time at United was troublesome due to injury issues, issues with managers (most infamous being the feud with then-manager Jose Mourinho), and inconsistent performances which severed his bond with the United faithful. He registered just 39 goals in 226 appearances for the Red Devils.

Pogba’s return to Juventus further boosts their midfield as he will be looking to add to his 4 Scudettos and two Coppa Italias he won with the Bianconeri during his first stint at the club.
