Prime Minister Modi received the special gift from the President of the Energy Company YPF, Pablo Gonzalez, on the sidelines of the ongoing India Energy Week in Bengaluru.
Argentina legend Lionel Messi, one of the greatest footballers of all time, after 16 years of trying added that 'one trophy' missing from his illustrious cabinet as Argentina secured a historic win over defending champions France in a dramatic FIFA World Cup 2022 final at Qatar's Lusail Stadium on December 18.
Following Argentina's win, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had congratulated the Messi-led team on Twitter. "This will be remembered as one of the most thrilling football matches! Meanwhile, Prime Minister Modi received a special gift from the President of the Energy Company YPF, Pablo Gonzalez, on the sidelines of the ongoing India Energy Week in Bengaluru. He gifted the Indian Prime Minister a Lionel Messi Argentina jersey.

Messi recently spoke about his retirement in a recent interview. He said that he will return to Spain. While he did not say about playing for the La Liga giants but he mentioned that he plans to settle in the city after retiring from sport.
"When I finish my career, I will return to live in Barcelona, it's my home," Messi said in an interview with Dario Ole.
In the same interview when Messi was asked what did he keep as memorabilia from the FIFA World Cup final in Qatar in which he led Argentina to victory last year, the seven time Ballon d'Or Winner said: "Everything."
