In yet another video that has been going viral, Dikec’s nine-year-old daughter, Basak, reveals she gave her father tips ahead of his silver medal win.

While talking to Turkey's Medya Midas, Dikec’s daughter, Basak, shared that she gave her father advice before his silver medal win. She provided him with strategies and motivation, knowing he would be disappointed if he lost. Basak explained that he should take a deep breath, release it and then pull the trigger as he finishes exhaling. This technique helps keep his hands steady.

Yusuf Dikec Opens Up On His Fame

Yusuf Dikec reflects that his journey began 24 years ago and acknowledges the attention his relaxed demeanour has received. He emphasises that while it may appear calm outwardly, there were internal struggles and he never anticipated such widespread discussion of his approach. He sees his success as more than personal achievement.

“This story actually started 24 years ago. Now people sometimes say, 'He is very comfortable. You got a medal with your hand in your pocket.' But all this is only reflected outside, but inside us, storms were raging in our inner world. I never expected it would be talked about this much,” he says while talking to Medya Midas.

Yusuf Dikec views his success as not only his own but also a triumph for the country of Turkey. He emphasises that athletes bring their own effort, sustenance, and luck to competitions, and he is pleased to represent his country and be in the spotlight. He expresses surprise at the extent of the attention his achievements have received.

“This is not just my own success. It's the success of the Republic of Turkey. It is a pleasure for both myself and my country. I never expected it to be talked about this much.”
