Lucknow Super Giants ended the powerplay at 47/3, with KL Rahul and impact player Deepak Hooda at the crease. However, with the required run rate scaling up, the duo decided to up the ante, and KL Rahul did play an impactful knock of 58 off 44, but Deepak Hooda couldn't sustain the pressure and departed for 26.

The Sawai Mansingh Stadium witnessed yet another 'Nicky P Masterclass' as Nicolas Pooran smashed 64 runs in 41 balls, and remained unbeaten, but couldn't see his side through, as other batters failed to compliment the left-handed world class batsman. Nicolas Pooran is a renowned cricketer and is well-known for his finishing ability, but the inability of an unbeaten and in-form Pooran to finish a match speaks volumes about lack of support and depth in batting of Lucknow Super Giants, and more than that, the world-class ability of Rajasthan Royals' bowling unit, as the Royals are seeming to be ultimate side to beat, with all of their bases covered.
