WATCH: Lalit Yadav’s Extraordinary Reflex Catch To Dismiss Rahane In CSK Vs DC IPL 2023 Game

However, in the game against Delhi Capitals, Rahane could not make it big on Wednesday as he departed on 21 off 19 deliveries.

Ajinkya Rahane has been in a scintillating form in the ongoing edition of the IPL. The Mumbai-based batter scored 266 runs in 10 innings while playing for CSK at an amazing strike rate of  171.60.  The Indian team management also showed faith in him by including him in the Indian squad for the WTC Final, seeing his current IPL form.

However, in the game against Delhi Capitals, Rahane could not make it big on Wednesday as he departed on 21 off 19 deliveries. It was Lalit Yadav who came over the wicket and delivered a full-length bowl to Ajinkya. Since it was pitched in between the middle and leg, the CSK batter walked down the track and was looking to hit the ball straight down the line but then Lalit showed terrific reflex and grabbed a blinder by diving to his right.

As per the broadcasters,  Lalit’s reaction time was 0.5 seconds to take the catch.

After the wicket of Rahane, a few crucial knocks from Shivam Dube, Ambati Rayudu and MS Dhoni helped CSK put up a decent score of 167/8 in their 20 overs of quota. Mitchell Marsh and Axar Patel were the stars with the ball as they picked up three and two wickets respectively.

In reply to CSK’s total, Delhi Capitals were restricted to just 140 runs by MS Dhoni’s bowlers. Rilee Rossouw (35 off 37) and Axar Patel (21 off 12) tried to sail their team’s boat but got failed at the end and lost the game by 27 runs. For CSK, star allrounder Ravindra Jadeja finished with figures of 1/19 with the ball while Deepak Chahar also bowled a magical spell and set things up in the second innings.

After this game, Chennai are standing at the second spot in the points table with 13 points from 11 games while Delhi Capitals are at the bottom of the 10-team table with eight points in 10 outings.
