Ravichandran Ashwin made his IPL debut back in 2009, for Chennai Super Kings against Mumbai Indians at Newlands on April 18. The all-rounder remained with Chennai Super Kings till 2015, until the franchise got banned for two years. The 38-year-old went on to represent Rising Pune Supergiants, Punjab Kings, Delhi Capitals, and Rajasthan Royals till 2024.
The off-spinner has played 211 IPL matches, where he has scalped 180 wickets with an economy rate of 7.12, and a bowling average of 29.83, with three 3-wicket hauls.
Not only Test Cricket, Ravichandran Ashwin is renowned for his batting in the IPL as well, as the legendary player has one fifty to his name.
Chennai Super Kings released 21 players and retained their core players, alongside buying some quality players after the conclusion of IPL 2025 Player Auction.
The five-time winners will be led by Ruturaj Gaikwad at this year's IPL, and the side will be playing their opening match against fierce-rivals Mumbai Indians at Chepauk.
