WATCH: Rajasthan Royals Coach Lashes Out At His Team In Dressing Room After 9-Wicket Loss Vs GT In IPL 2023

Rajasthan Royals coach Kumar Sangakkara did not mince his words while addressing the players in dressing room after 9-wicket loss to GT in their IPL 2023 match.

RR vs GT in IPL 2023: A video has gone viral on social media in which Rajasthan Royals (RR) coach Kumar Sangakkara can be seen 'blasting' his players after their humiliating nine-wicket loss against defending champions Gujarat Titans (GT) in Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023. Batting first, RR were bowled out for a paltry 118 and GT won the match by chasing down the target comfortably with 37 balls and 9 wickets remaining. Rajasthan Royals started their IPL 2023 campaign on a great note, winning 4 out of five first matches but after a sudden dip in form, the former champions have lost four of their last five matches. Rajasthan, at present, are in fourth position in IPL 2023 Points Table with 5 wins off 10 matches.

After RR's heartbreaking loss to GT, team coach Kumar Sangakkara did not mince his words while addressing the players in dressing room. The former Sri Lankan cricketer lashed out at his team, saying they played 'worst cricket' and that they shouldn't think much about the result, rather focus on their upcoming IPL 2023 match against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH).

"I know everyone's hurting. The reality of it is, we played a pi*-poor game. The shi*iest cricket that we can play, and we did that. Alright?” Sangakkara began his dressing room speech.

"Thinking about what happened today… the only thing you want to do is learn from it. It was embarassing. What the fans are going to think, what the points table is showing… it doesn't change the quality of our side just because we played an absolutely poor game. Accept it first. You want to learn, you have to accept that you weren't good enough. Gujarat outplayed us, but that's only this day. We have one day to recover, we can keep talking about mistakes we can learn from," he added.

“How do we solve challenges that we face in the middle? How do we get ready for Sunrisers game? How do we play a really good game? That's all you guys have to think about. Nothing else,” Sangakkara concluded.
