Chennai Super Kings (CSK) strengthened its spin arsenal for Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 in the mega auction by adding a talented 19-year-old spinner to complement veterans Ravindra Jadeja and Ravichandran Ashwin.

Five-time IPL winners CSK secured Noor Ahmed during the mega auction for Rs 10 crore, marking him as a possible X-factor for the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 season.

Currently representing the Super Giants in SA20, Noor Ahmed has been in exceptional form. In just four matches, he has taken six wickets, proving his knack for delivering under pressure. His standout performance came against Eastern Cape, where he claimed 4 wickets for 25 runs in his four-over spell, earning the Player of the Match award and leading his team to victory.

Chennai Super Kings' investment in Noor Ahmed shows their belief in his abilities. Known for identifying and nurturing special talent, the franchise entered a competitive bidding war during the IPL 2025 mega auction to secure Noor's services, making him one of the season's most talked-about acquisitions.

Noor Ahmed's record in IPL 

Noor Ahmed, set to don the iconic yellow jersey, made his Indian Premier League (IPL) debut in 2023 and has since then has shown great potential. In 23 IPL matches, he has taken 24 wickets at an average of 27.46, with a good economy rate of 8.04.

Internationally, the left-arm spinner has represented Afghanistan in 14 T20Is, claiming seven wickets. Across 122 T20 matches in various leagues, he has an impressive tally of 137 wickets at an average of 23.08.
