Rajasthan Royals (RR) faced another defeat in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) season 2024 as they lost the 65th match of the tournament to Punjab Kings (PBKS) by five wickets at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati on May 15 (Wednesday). This was the fourth consecutive defeat for the Sanju Samson-led Rajasthan side. They may have already secured a place in the playoffs but have completely lost their form.

Batting first, Rajasthan struggled early on as they lost Yashasvi Jaiswal in the very first over. Riyan Parag’s 48-run knock and Ravichandran Ashwin’s innings of 28 runs helped them to 144-9 in 20 overs. Punjab Kings, powered by skipper Sam Curran’s impressive fifty, chased the target with ease in 18.5 overs, winning the match by five wickets.
