MI vs GT, Match Highlights: Surya’s Heroics Outclass Rashid’s Cameo As Mumbai Defeat Gujarat By 27 Runs

It was an eye pleasant game for the fans who witnessed yet another blinder from Suryakumar Yadav as he smashed unbeaten 103 runs.

It was a high-intensity encounter between Mumbai Indians and Gujarat Titans in the 57th game of the ongoing 2023 edition of the IPL where Mumbai continued their winning run as they defeated Gujarat Titans by 27 runs at the Wankhede Stadium on Friday. It was an eye-pleasant game for the fans who witnessed yet another blinder from Suryakumar Yadav as he smashed unbeaten 103 runs. Time and again he is proving why he has been rated so highly by the cricketing fraternity.

Earlier, GT skipper Hardik Pandya won the toss and asked Mumbai to bat first. It was Suryakumar Yadav again who wreaked havoc with the bat as he smashed 103 not out off 49 balls laced with 11 boundaries and six maximums and powered Mumbai to a massive total of  218 for 5 in 20 overs. Before Surya's innings, Skipper Rohit Sharma and Ishan Kishan provided Mumbai with a solid start but then wrist spinner Rashid Khan dismissed both batters in one over. India’s 360 batter also built a 65-run stand alongside Vishnu Vinod as Mumbai was reeling at 96 for the loss of three wickets at one point in time.

For Gujarat Titans, the Afghanistan-based spinner returned with figures of 4 for 30 in his four overs off quota. In reply, Hardik Pandya's team lost their openers early in the game and kept on losing wickets at regular intervals. David Miller did try to resurrect Gujarat’s innings in the middle as he collected 41 runs but the highlight of Titans’ batting was Rashid Khan, who tormented Mumbai bowlers till the end. The tailender scored an unbeaten 79 off 32 balls with the help of three boundaries and ten maximums. Rashid's solid batting helped Gujarat reach 191/8 in 20 overs.

For Mumbai, it was young bowler Akash Madhwal who picked up three wickets and contributed in Mumbai’s victory.
