IPL 2023 | From Kyle Mayers To Nicholas Pooran: Four West Indies Players To Watch Out For In IPL 16

Many stalwarts from the Caribbean islands have dominated the T20 tournament over the years and there are some more Windies players who will be aiming to continue their merry way in the cash-rich tournament.

Ten franchises are all set to aim for the ultimate glory as the 2023 season of Indian Premier League (IPL) will kick-off from March 31 in India. West Indies cricketers have starred for several IPL franchises. Many stalwarts from the Caribbean islands have dominated the T20 tournament over the years and there are some more Windies players who will be aiming to continue their merry way in the cash-rich tournament.

1. Shimron Hetmyer: 26-year-old Shimron Hetmyer has been part of Rajasthan Royals since 2022 and is definitely a cricketer to watch out for this year. In IPL 2022, he scored 314 runs, making him 4th highest run-scorer for the franchise.

2. Nicholas Pooran: Nicholas Pooran was acquired by Lucknow Super Giants for INR 16 crore for IPL 2023 after being released by Sunrisers Hyderabad. He had an underwhelming IPL 2022 as he could score just 306 runs. The massive price tag Pooran carries will definitely put pressure on him but there is no doubt that the Windies star is a match-winner and definitely a player to watch out for in IPL 2023.

3. Rovman Powell: Rovman Powell, the hard-hitting batter, provides great strength to the middle-order of Delhi Capitals (DC) in IPL. Especially in Rishabh Pant's absence, Powell will be given that 'extra responsibility'. He had a decent outing last season, scoring only 250 runs throughout the tournament but his ability to muscle the ball with ease for fours and sixes makes him a player to watch out for in IPL 2023.

4. Kyle Mayers: Left-handed Windies star Kyle Mayers will play for Hardik Pandya's Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023. In the last year or so, Mayers has established himself as one of the key players of West Indies in white-ball cricket. The 30-year-old can bowl with a decent pace and has scored 408 runs in T20 Internationals. Mayers was bought by LSG for just INR 50 Lakh but his hitting ability makes him one player to watch out for in the 2023 season of IPL.
