Relief For KKR Fans: Nitish Rana Tests Negative For Covid-19

Kolkata Knight Riders batsman was tested positive for Covid-19 on March 22. A sigh of relief for KKR fans after this update.

IPL 2021: Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) batsman Nitish Rana has been tested negative after his latest test for Covid-19. He was tested positive on March 22, 2021. KKR fans would be relieved after this news.

The 27-year-old batsman had arrived to the KKR team hotel on 21st March based on a negative Covid-19 report dated, 19 March 2021. But as per IPL protocols, he had to undergo a test again on 22 March. Rana had tested positive in this test. Although he had was asymptomatic, he had isolated himself till Thursday. Rana was reported Covid-19 negative after his test on Thursday.

Here is the statement that was released by Kolkata Knight Riders regarding Nitish Rana:

Nitish Rana is fully fit and expected to join training soon. His most recent performance was during the Vijay Hazare Trophy. Rana was the highest run scorer for Delhi in the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2020-21. He scored 398 runs with an average of 66.33. Nitish Rana’s last season of the Indian Premier League, i.e. IPL 2020 proved to be good. He scored 352 runs in 14 matches for KKR.

Kolkata Knight Riders will play their first match against Sunrisers Hyderabad on 11 April, 2021. Their second match will be against the mighty Mumbai Indians on 13 April, 2021.
