IPL 2020: David Warner Breaks Virat Kohli's Record, Becomes First Player To Attain THIS Unique Record In IPL

IPL 13: Sunrisers Hyderabad skipper David Warner has now become the first player in IPL history to have scored more than 500 runs in 6 consecutive IPL seasons. Earlier this record was in the name of Virat Kohli, who had the distinction of scoring more than 500 runs in 5 consecutive seasons.

Sunrisers Hyderabad star opener David Warner and veteran batsman Wriddhiman Saha not only powered their team to a big 10-wickets against defending champions Mumbai Indians, but also helped Hyderabad make it to the IPL 2020 playoffs. In the 56th match of the IPL 2020, heavyweights Mumbai Indians collapsed completely in front of the power-packed performance of David Warner and Saha. As a result, Sunrisers Hyderabad secured the third place in the points table registering their 7th win.

In the match played in Sharjah, SRH skipper David Warner played a match-winning 85-run knock off just 58 balls while remaining unbeaten. During this, he hit 10 fours and a huge six. This was Warner's fourth half of this season and 48th of his IPL career. Not only this, after his innings, he reached the second place in terms of scoring the most runs this season and joined the Orange Cap race.

Talking about his last five seasons, Warner touched the 500-run mark in the IPL for the first time in 2014. He had scored 528 runs at an average of 48 in 14 matches at that time. After this, Warner did not stop and then scored 562 runs in 2015, 848 runs in 2016, 641 runs in 2017, 692 runs in 2019. In 2018, he did not play in the IPL because of the ban imposed on him.
