DC Vs CSK: Fans Erupt In Joy As MS Dhoni Walks Out To Bat For First Time In IPL 2024 - WATCH

'Thala' Dhoni has stepped on to the pitch to bat for the first time in IPL 2024. WATCH.

DC Vs CSK: Chennai Super Kings legend and former captain, Mahendra Singh Dhoni stepped out to bat for the first time in 307 days, as 'Thala' came out to bat at number 8 during Delhi Capitals Vs Chennai Super Kings in IPL 2024. The iconic player was greeted with lots of cheers as fans around the stadium in Vizag started chanting "Dhoni, Dhoni" as he came in to replace the departing Shivam Dube.

Dhoni introduced himself in some style as he dispatched his first ball for a boundary off Mukesh Kumar. As the match progressed, the chase became more improbable as Delhi Capitals had already capitalised on the conditions of the ground by bowling extremely well and once Dhoni came out to bat, the required runs were 73 off merely 23 balls.

Delhi Capitals Register First Win Of IPL 2024

Delhi Capitals have opened their account for IPL 2024 with a huge upset over table toppers Chennai Super Kings. However, after the defeat, the reigning champions of the Indian Premeir League are not at the top anymore, as Kolkata Knight Riders have taken over the Super Kings on the basis of Net Run Rate, as both sides sit on 4 points each.

With a 20-run win over CSK, DC are now 7th in the table with 2 points, and are level with Sunrisers Hyderabad, Royal Challengers Bangalore, Lucknow Super Giants, and Punjab Kings, as all the five sides have only one win to their name, and Mumbai Indians remain the only side without a win this season.
