CSK Could Crush Dreams Of These 3 Teams In IPL 2025

CSK may no longer be competing for a title this season, but they can still make a major impact on who does.

Chennai Super Kings, the five-time IPL champions, have been officially knocked out of the playoff race in IPL 2025. Their hopes came crashing down after a defeat to Punjab Kings on April 30 at home.

With that loss, CSK's campaign for a top-four finish ended. But while they may be out of contention, they still have the power to spoil the chances of other teams chasing playoff berths. Let's take a look at the three teams most at risk from CSK's late-season spoilers:

CSK can still ruin the party for these 3 teams

1. Rajasthan Royals – Must-Win situation: Currently ranked 8th on the points table, Rajasthan Royals have managed just 3 wins from 10 matches. With four matches left, they must win all of them to stay alive in the playoff race.

One of those crucial fixtures is against CSK on May 12 at Chepauk. Given their fragile position, a loss to Chennai would eliminate RR from the tournament. Every game is a do-or-die now - and CSK could deal the final blow.

2. Kolkata Knight Riders – Hanging by a thread: KKR, led by Ajinkya Rahane this season, are in 7th place with 4 wins and 5 losses from 10 matches. They have 9 points and, like RR, need to win all four of their remaining games to stand a chance at qualification.

Their encounter with CSK on May 7 at Eden Gardens could be make-or-break. If CSK manages to win, Kolkata's playoff hopes could end abruptly. The Knights will have to bring their A-game, especially against a side with nothing to lose.

3. Royal Challengers Bangalore – Big test ahead: RCB's next match is a high-stakes battle - against CSK on May 3 at the Chinnaswamy Stadium. Bangalore is still in the playoff race and needs at least two more wins from their remaining four games.

A win over CSK will strengthen their campaign, but a loss could derail their momentum. In past seasons, RCB has struggled in the final leg - and CSK could once again be the team that halts their playoff push.
