Indian Team For ODI Series Against South Africa To Be Selected In Ahmedabad Tomorrow: Sources

The Indian team will be taking on South Africa in a 3-match ODI series with the series opener to be played at the HPCA Stadium in Dharamshala on March 12.

New Delhi: The selection for Indian team's ODI squad for the upcoming 3-match limited-overs series against South Africa is likely to take place in Ahmadabad on Sunday. Sources close to the development apprised ABP News that the revamped national selection panel comprising of newly appointed Chief Selector Sunil Joshi will pick the team for the ODI series against the Proteas in Ahmadabad. BCCI president Sourav Ganguly had earlier confirmed that revamped selection committee with a new chairman at helm will pick the Indian squad for the three ODIs against South Africa at home in March. The Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC) of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) appointed Sunil Joshi as the new Chief Selector of team India on March 04, 2020. BCCI has also appointed Harvinder Singh as a selector apart from Sunil Joshi. Harvinder was chosen from Central Zone and replaces Gagan Khoda in the national selection panel. The name of Sunil Joshi was finalized by the Cricket Advisory Committee of BCCI. The advisory committee consists of former cricketers RP Singh, Sulakshana Naik and Madan Lal. Cricket South Africa (CSA) have already announced their 15-man squad for the upcoming three-match ODI against India, starting March 12. Former skipper Faf du Plessis and Rassie van der Dussen, both of whom were not picked for the three-match ODI series against Australia, make their return to the 50-overs format. Left-arm spinner George Linde has received his maiden ODI call-up for India tour. The Indian team will be taking on South Africa in a 3-match ODI series with the series opener to be played at the HPCA Stadium in Dharamshala on March 12. The second and third ODI fixtures of the series will be played in Lucknow and Kolkata on March 15 and 18, respectively. South Africa ODI squad for India ODIs: Quinton de Kock (c & wk), Temba Bavuma, Rassie van der Dussen, Faf du Plessis, Kyle Verreynne, Heinrich Klaasen, David Miller, Jon-Jon Smuts, Andile Phehlukwayo, Lungi Ngidi, Lutho Sipamla, Beuran Hendricks, Anrich Nortje, George Linde, Keshav Maharaj.
