Auckland: After inflicting a 5-0 whitewash over the Kiwis in the T20I series, India tasted defeat in the ODI series opener in Hamilton but Virat Kohli-led Indian team will look to bounce back with a with a win in the 2nd ODI at Eden Park in Auckland and take the 3-match series into the decider.

The main area of concern for Kohli will be their below par bowling efforts which has conceded plenty of runs. Both spinners Kuldeep Yadav and Ravindra Jadeja were taken to the cleaners in the first game and even pacers, including their frontline seamer Jasprit Bumrah, failed to exert pressure on the Kiwi batters.

A clinical bowling performance from Kiwi speedsters following remarkable knocks from Guptill (79) and Taylor (73*) helped hosts win the series decider by 22 runs and seal the series 2-0 against India at Auckland. For India, 'in-form' Shreyas Iyer was the highest run-scorer with 52 off 57 balls.  

The fifty-plus partnership between Navdeep Saini (45 off 49 balls) and Ravindra Jadeja gave some hope to the Indian team in the end but post Saini's dismissal, Jadeja and other tail-enders failed to chase down the target.
