BCCI Announces Revised Venues For Home Series Against West Indies

BCCI decided to organise the entire series in only two venues, Ahmedabad and Kolkata, to reduce the chances of contamination and successfully arrange the series within a secure bio-bubble.

New Delhi: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Saturday announced change in venues for the upcoming India vs West Indies white-ball series. West Indies is slated to tour the India soil for a limited-overs series consisting of three ODIs and as many T20Is.

As per the change in venues announced by the BCCI via its official Twitter handle, India vs West Indies ODIs will now be played at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad and Ind vs WI T20Is will be played at Kolkata's Eden Gardens.

"The decision to limit the series to two venues instead of six as originally announced has been done to mitigate biosecurity risks by cutting down on travel and movement of the teams, match officials, broadcasters, and other stakeholders," BCCI stated in an official release.

On 19th January, ABP LIVE was the first to break the news that the India vs West Indies upcoming series is likely to be rescheduled, just after the completion of the tours and fixture committee meeting that very evening. ABP Live also reported that all the six matches may be hosted in Kolkata and Ahmedabad, in place of six venues decided earlier.
