WPL 2024 UP Players List: Full Squad Of UP Warriorz After WPL Auction
The UP-based franchise spent a huge amount on the Indian player Vrinda Dinesh as they snapped her for Rs 1.3 crore alongside England star Dani Wyatt for Rs 30 lakh.
The UP Warriorz under the leadership of Alyssa Healey couldn’t reach the finals last season as they lost to Mumbai Indians in the eliminator and eventually finished third on the table. The UP-based franchise followed the footsteps of defending champions Mumbai Indians and released 5 players from the squad. The franchise looked to keep the team strong and fetched a blend of young and veteran players at the auction on Saturday. In the WPL 2024 auction, they spent a huge amount on the Indian player Vrinda Dinesh as they snapped her for Rs 1.3 crore alongside England star Dani Wyatt for Rs 30 lakh.
They also bought the services of players like Poonam Khemnar for Rs 10 lakh, Saima Thakor for Rs 10 lakh) and Gouher Sultana for Rs 30 lakh. Talking about the released players, they had to let go of South African stalwart Shabnim Ismail who was then snapped by defending champions Mumbai Indians for Rs 1.2 crore. The likes of Devika Vaidya, Shivali Shinde and Simran Shaikh were also released by the franchise.
