Ravindra Jadeja Pulls Off A Blinder, India's Fielding Coach's Reaction Is Viral. Watch

Dinesh Karthik exclaimed, "Unbelievable!" on air as Jadeja snatched the ball out of thin air.

India displayed remarkable fielding during the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023 match against Bangladesh at MCA Stadium in Pune, stunning everyone with some extraordinary catches. KL Rahul's jaw-dropping catch behind the wickets to dismiss Mehidy Hasan Miraz put India in a commanding position. However, the fielding spectacle didn't end there. In the 43rd over, Ravindra Jadeja reminded everyone why he's regarded as one of the best fielders in the game with an outstanding catch to dismiss senior batsman Mushfiqur Rahim, leaving fans and commentators in awe.

Dinesh Karthik exclaimed, "Unbelievable!" on air as Jadeja snatched the ball out of thin air. The delivery had been short and wide, Mushfiqur Rahim saw an opportunity and attempted a powerful cut, sending the ball flying toward the right of backward point. In an instant, Ravindra Jadeja dove with outstretched hands and secured a stunning catch. This vital wicket marked the dismissal of Rahim, disrupting Bangladesh's momentum and swinging the game in India's favour.

What made this sensational catch even more intriguing was Jadeja's unique celebration. Immediately after taking the catch, he turned toward India's fielding coach, T. Dilip, who was standing near the boundary. With a gesture, Jadeja indicated as if he desired to receive a medal.

This act appeared to be a reference to a recent tradition in the Indian dressing room, where the best fielder of the match is awarded a medal by the fielding coach. In the previous match against Pakistan, KL Rahul had won this medal, much to the joy of his teammates. Now, it seemed that Jadeja, in his own distinctive style, was vying for a medal of his own.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) had shared a video of the unofficial ceremony after the India-Australia game on their Instagram page. In the video, Dilip can be seen presenting Kohli with the medal for his incredible catch that provided the breakthrough by dismissing Mitchell Marsh.

After the innings, Jadeja spoke about his celebration and humorously admitted that he also wanted the medal. “That celebration was for our fielding coach. After every game, we get the best fielder award, so I was telling him I am also here (for the award),” Jadeja told the Star Sports broadcasters.

Men In Blue staged a remarkable comeback in the game after the stellar start the Bangladesh team got. Bangladesh got off to an excellent start as they were 63 for no wickets in the first 10 overs. India, however, pulled the game back in the middle overs and eventually restricted the Bangladesh team for 256-8 in 50 overs. Bumrah, Siraj, and Jadeja bagged 2 wickets each.
