World Cup 2019: Jadeja Creates Fielding Record in WC With Spectacular Run Out, Brilliant Catch

India all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja who is rated among the best fielders in the world displayed another piece of superlative fielding in India's World Cup semifinal against New Zealand at Manchester. The spin all-rounder who made it to India's playing eleven relatively late in the tournament has turned quite a few eyes with his athleticism in the field. Jadeja was best at what he does when he inflicted a sensational run out and then followed it up with another superlative catch as the Kiwis could only reach 239/8 in 50 overs. In the 48th over of the NZ innings, when Kiwis batsman Taylor flicked a ball towards midwicket and attempted to steal a couple, Jadeja gathered the ball and hurled the ball onto the stumps with direct hit on to the striker’s end. Taylor was caught off crease and had to walk back for 70. In the next ball of the next over, Jadeja who was fielding at deep mid-wicket jumped up in the air to pluck a catch after Tom Latham slogged a slow one. With the dismissal, Jadeja created a unique fielding record in the ongoing World Cup as he managed to save overall 41 runs in 2 matches. The allorunder has saved 24 runs in the inner ring while 17 in the outfield. New Zealand’s Martin Guptill, who saved 34 runs in 9 games, is in the second position.
